Afghan Experts activates the Electronic Procurement System

The National Procurement Directorate has consistently demonstrated its dedication as a responsible directorate in establishing and enhancing systemic transparency. It also endeavors to expedite project procurement phases via the electronic procurement system and disseminates information to the public. The National Procurement Directorate is dedicated to the creation and improvement of systems and supports the use of information technology in the procurement process. As a result, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has worked tirelessly to safeguard and advance information technology throughout the whole government since its restoration. Among these are the National Procurement Directorate's website and the Portal of Afghanistan Government Electronic and Open Procurement System (AGEOPS), both of which had high maintenance expenses and were formerly financed by the World Bank. This system, which is developed by Afghans and is financed by internal resources, is now prepared to be used. Once more thanks to the blessings and assistance of the Almighty God. People can access procurement information about the status of contracts and projects without restriction as soon as the e-procurement system is turned on. Using an e-procurement system not only makes public procurement more accountable and transparent, but it also streamlines the procedure and eliminates human intervention. The Afghanistan Electronic and Open Procurement System (AGEOPS) in Afghanistan can exchange the required data fast since it is linked to the national financial systems. It also makes the procurement process easier. Two of these systems are the Afghanistan Central Business Registration System (ACBR) and the Standard Integrated Government Tax Administration System (SIGTAS), which are utilized and functionally connected. The National Procurement Directorate considers its crucial responsibility to develop and strengthen the e-procurement system in the country and believes that transparency in procurement through the e-procurement system leads to economic empowerment. We hope that the people of Afghanistan, scholars, civil society, politicians, and the media will support us in this struggle.
