AGEOPS: The Gateway to Procurement Information

KABUL, Sunday, April 21st, 2024 – Today, employees from the Electronic Procurement System Development Department (EPSD) of the National Procurement Directorate (NPD) provided information about the Afghanistan Electronic and Open Procurement System (AGEOPS) to representatives from the private sector and urged them to register their companies in the Afghanistan Vendors Registration and Classification System (AVRCS). Approximately 30 vendor representatives participated in this face-to-face meeting; where vital information was shared about all portals related to the electronic procurement system. It was emphasized that AGEOPS is the single source of procurement information, accessible not only to the public and private sectors but also to the general public. During the program; representatives of the private sector received a presentation on creating a user account in the AVRCS and were guided on how to register their companies. To ensure a complete understanding and training regarding the system; forms were distributed among the company’s representatives for completion and plans were made to arrange a training program for them in the future. The AVRCS plays a crucial role in streamlining the procurement process, facilitating consortium opportunities, promoting sustainable development through participation, evaluating company capabilities, ensuring fair competition, and enhancing the professionalism of participating companies.
