Employees of 29 PE’s receives awareness and training on AETS

KABUL: In a training session held today, Sunday, May 5th, 2024 and more than 100 procurement employees from 29 procurement entities (PE) received online training and awareness about the Afghanistan Electronic Tender System (AETS) as part of Afghanistan's electronic and open procurement system (AGEOPS). During the program; over 100 employees from various ministries; including the Ministries of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT), Interior Affairs (MoIA), Finance (MoF), Public Works (MoPW), Information and Culture (MoIC), Education (MoE), Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTCA), Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR), Agriculture, Irrigation & Livestock (MAIL), Public Health (MoPH), Hajj & Religious Affairs (MoHIA), Rural Rehabilitation & Development (MoRRD), Commerce & Industries (MoCI), Martyrs & Disabled Affairs (MoMDA), Urban Development & Housing (MoUDH), Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice and Hearing Complaints (MoPVPE) and ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs (MoBTA), Office of Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister (OCS), General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI), Afghanistan Railway Authority (ARA), National Statistic and Information Authority (NSIA), Afghanistan Standard National Authority (ANSA), Technical & Vocational Education and Training Authority (AVETA), Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), Kabul Municipality (KM), Afghanistan Medical Council (AMC), Supreme Audit Office (SAO) and General Directorate of Enforcement and Supervision of Decrees and Order as well as Afghan Telecom officials; participated and a Comprehensive and detailed information about the system was shared with them during the session. The agenda included providing information to the officials of the procurement entities about the activities of the National Procurement Directorate and various portals of the electronic procurement system. Additionally; the entire procurement process; from initiation to the award of contracts; was explained to the participants in the system. During the event; NPD officials provided practical demonstrations to procurement entity employees; showing them a sample of all stages of a project in the Electronic Tendering System and addressing their questions. At the conclusion of the meeting; employees of the procurement entities expressed their appreciation to the NPD and promised to cooperate further in the implementation of the electronic procurement system in their organizations. It is worth noting that AGEOPS was launched on December 13th, 2023, at the Salam Khana Palace of ARG, and a memorandum from the H.E Prime Minister regarding the implementation of the electronic procurement system in the procurement entities was also approved.
